ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The No. 21 New Mexico men’s golf team travels to California this week for the The Goodwin. The historic event in its 57th year, hosted by Stanford, will run Thursday through Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.
There will be one round of play per day at the par-70, 6,742 yard course. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
The tournament features a deep 30-team field, including 14 teams in the top 50 and 23 teams in the top 100 of the national rankings. The No. 21 Lobos will take on No. 18 Georgia Tech, host No. 23 Stanford, No. 24 BYU, No. 30 Utah, No. 31 Long Beach State, No. 33 San Diego State, No. 35 UCLA, No. 36 TCU, No. 39 Washington, No. 41 Northwestern, No. 44 Colorado, No. 47 SMU and No. 50 Little Rock. Cincinnati, Oregon, Cal, Washington State, Pacific, San Jose State, Santa Clara, Grand Canyon, Eastern Michigan, Boise State, Colorado State, Nevada, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Howard and Hawaii-Hilo.
The Lobos will feature a lineup of Mesa Falleur, Johnnie Clark, Wyatt Provence, Thayer Plewe and Emil Albers. All five Lobos competing this week are ranked in the top 250 of the national individual rankings.
New Mexico has finished in the top four of five of seven events this season, including a win at The Wohali.
The Lobos are playing at Stanford for the first time since the fall of 2004, when they won The Nelson.
