ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team continues play in the 2026 NIT on Sunday evening at The Pit – Powered by Nusenda when it hosts George Washington in a second round matchup. Game time is 6:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN+ and air on Lobo Radio Network.

Season ticket holders will have their tickets for the game added to their account. Those fans should log into their account and click renew to purchase their seats for the game by 10 a.m. on Sunday. Single-game tickets for Wednesday’s game will be on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets, beginning at $25 plus fees.

The Lobos (24-10) advanced to the second round with a 107-83 opening round win over Sam Houston at The Pit on Wednesday, as UNM set a record for its highest scoring game in a postseason tournament. Tomislav Buljan led the Lobos in the opener with 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. New Mexico is looking to advance to the NIT quarterfinals for the ninth time overall and first time since 2001.

George Washington (19-15) advanced to the second round with a 79-78 road win at Utah Valley on Wednesday night. The Revolutionaries have won six straight NIT games as they make their first appearance in the event since 2016, when they won the title.

New Mexico is making its 21st all-time NIT appearance, its first since 2023. The Lobos were the NIT runner-up in 1964 and reached the semifinals in 1990.

The New Mexico-George Washington winner will play the Cal-Saint Joseph’s winner in the quarterfinals, either March 24 or 25. Date, time and location of that game will be announced after the matchup is determined. If the Lobos advance and host the quarterfinal game at The Pit, ticket information for that game will be announced at that time.
