ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The No. 18 New Mexico men’s golf team travels to Arizona this week for the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate. The event, hosted by Arizona, will run Monday and Tuesday at the Tucson Country Club.
There will be two rounds of play on Monday and the final round on Tuesday at the par-72, 7,533 yard course. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
The tournament features a strong field as the No. 18 Lobos are one of five top-35 teams competing, along with No. 5 Arizona State, No. 14 Oklahoma, No. 22 Arizona and No. 32 Long Bach State. Colorado, UTEP, Pacific, Oral Roberts, Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, UTSA, Wyoming and Hawaii round out the field.
The Lobos will feature a lineup of Mesa Falleur, Johnnie Clark, Wyatt Provence, Thayer Plewe and Clark Sonnenberg. Alvaro Portillo is playing as an individual.
New Mexico has finished in the top four of five of six events this season, including a win at The Wohali.
The Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate has long been a fixture on the Lobos’ schedule. New Mexico finished second at the event in 2024 in their last appearance.
