ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- University of New Mexico head men’s tennis coach Rob Bareford has announced that David Schwarc will join the squad for the 2026-27 season.
Schwarc, a native of Trnava, Slovakia, owns a 12.24 UTR and a career-high ITF junior ranking of 229.
He picked up titles at the Slovak National Championship in 2019. That same season, he also won the Slovak National title in doubles
In his U-18 ITF Juniors, he finished second at the ITF Junior Tournament in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and also reached the doubles final. He also finished third at Clermont-Ferrand in France.
He has also played for the Slovak national team three times in the Winter Cup and twice in the Summer Cup.
Said Bareford of Schwarc, “David’s results speak for themselves. We are confident in his level and know he will strengthen our lineup immediately.”
The Lobos travel to take on New Orleans and Tulane at the beginning of next week.
