ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The Lobos will look to end a four-match skid this weekend, but the task is large as UNM takes on Oklahoma on Saturday before a neutral match against UT Arlington on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Lobos are 2-4 on the season, but 2-0 at home and 0-4 away from McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium. The Lobos have been in all four losses. Last week, UNM lost 5-2 to St. Mary's in a match where the final four singles matches were all three-setters. UNM also lost to Cal Poly 6-1 in a match where UNM picked up the doubles point, but lost all six singles matches.
Dario CIobotaru continued his solid play, moving to 3-1 at No. 1 singles over the weekend.
Oklahoma, a program with Lobo ties, is 4-1 this season, with wins over Arizona and California. Ben Dunbar, who is a former Lobo student-athlete, assistant coach, and head coach, currently serves as an assistant coach for the Sooners.
UT Arlington is 0-3, but the Mavericks have played a murderer's row of a schedule, taking on Texas A&M, TCU, and Boise State, with a game against Oklahoma on deck before facing UNM.
