ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The No. 19 New Mexico men’s golf team returns to action this week with a trip to Las Vegas for the Southern Highlands Collegiate. The event, hosted by UNLV, will run Sunday through Tuesday at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
Each day will feature one round of play at the par-72, 7,510 yard course. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
The tournament again features one of the strongest fields of any regular season event of the season. All 15 teams in the field are ranked in the top 50 nationally, including five of the top 10 and eight of the top 20. The 19th-ranked Lobos are joined in the field by No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Texas, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 12 Illinois, No. 14 Oklahoma, No. 25 San Diego State, No. 29 Texas A&M, No. 31 UCLA, No. 33 UNLV, No. 34 Georgia, No. 35 Washington and No. 46 South Carolina.
The Lobos will feature a lineup of Mesa Falleur, Emil Albers, Wyatt Provence, Johnnie Clark and Thayer Plewe.
Last season, the Lobos finished third at Southern Highlands among an elite field.
