SANTA CLARA, Calif. --- Dario Ciobotaru won at No. 1 singles, taking a 10-point third-set tiebreaker 10-7, but that was all UNM got as the No. 40 Santa Clara Broncos moved to 8-2 with a 6-1 win.

The Lobos, looking for back-to-back wins, dropped to 3-8 and now have next weekend off to get healthy, as UNM again played with just six players.

In doubles, Alberto Perez and Jakub Prachar were down 5-4 at No. 1, but the Broncos won the other two matches to take a 1-0 lead.

In singles, every match was a straight-set win for Santa Clara, except at No. 1, where Ciobotaru dropped an opening set tiebreaker 7-4. He bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second set before taking the 10-point tiebreaker to win his match and get UNM a point.
