COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico’s Jake Hall was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Hall was honored for the second straight week and the third time in the past four weeks.

Hall’s honor is his third of the season and the sixth overall for a Lobo this season, as Tomislav Buljan has also been recognized three times. Buljan and Hall join JT Toppin (2023-24) as the only Lobos to ever win the freshman honor multiple times in a season.

Hall averaged 21.5 points last week, shooting 17-25 (.680) from the floor, including 9-15 (.600) from deep, in the road wins at UNLV and San Jose State. In Tuesday’s 89-61 win at UNLV, Hall scored 16 points on 7-11 shooting. In the 90-80 win at San Jose State on Saturday, Hall scored a career-high 27 points, shooting 10-14 from the field, including 7-9 from three. His seven three-pointers tied his UNM freshman single-game record and was the second-most ever by a freshman in a Mountain West game. It was Hall’s seventh 20-point game of the season, extending his UNM freshman record.

The Lobos (18-4, 9-2 MW) host fellow Mountain West co-leader Utah State (18-3, 9-2 MW) on Wednesday night for the Lobos’ Black History Month celebration. Tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets, with prices starting at $15.
