LIHUE, Hawaii –– The No. 19 New Mexico men’s golf team continued play Friday at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate with the second round at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. The Lobos shot 3-under during the second round to remain tied for fourth place at 2-under, six shots off the lead.
Loyola Marymount and Texas A&M share the 36-hole lead, each at 8-under. UNLV is third at 5-under, while the Lobos and BYU are tied for fourth at 2-under.
Mesa Falleur shot one of the low rounds of the day, a 4-under 66, to climb into the individual top five. He is in fourth at 4-under for the tournament, two shots off the lead. Johnnie Clark is also in red figures after 36 holes, shooting a 69 in the second round to be at 1-under for the tournament. Emil Albers is at even par after shooting 1-over on Friday, while Wyatt Provence also shot 1-over. Thayer Plewe rounded out the lineup with a 3-over round, while Clark Sonnenberg shot 5-over while playing as an individual.
