ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Rebecca Grieve broke her own UNM 400m Program Record set last week and Ajia Hughes broke a High Jump record that had stood since 2018 to highlight Day One of competition at the Don Kirby Elite Friday at the ABQ Convention Center.

Competition resumes tomorrow morning, with Men’s 60m Hurdle Prelims both getting underway at 10 a.m. MT. All of this weekend's competition in Albuquerque will be streamed via paid subscription to FloTrack, with live results available via GoLobos.com/TrackResults. Miller jumped above seven meters for the first time in his collegiate career to make it back-to-back PRs in the long jump – he cleared 6.96 meters (22' 10") in his last try at the long jump in UNM’s season opener at the MLK Invitational.

Women’s High Jump
1. Ajia Hughes - 1.82m (5’11.5”)*

Hughes matched her UNM best from her season opener with a successful clearance on her second attempt at 1.79m and broke through with an indoor best in her second high jump of the season, beating a UNM program record that had stood since 2018 (1.81 m / 5’ 11.25”). Hughes’ mark is tied for 18th among performances at the Albuquerque Convention Center in its 20-year history.

Men’s Unseeded 200 Meters
17. Kahari Wilbon - 21.56 / 21.63 @ 

After a big PR in the 400m last weekend, Wilbon ran just seven hundredths of a second shy of his personal best in the 200m, set in January at the MLK Invitational – he finished 17th overall.

Looney ran shy of her 23.72 outdoor best from her time at Pittsburgh State but came up with a new indoor personal best to finish seventh overall, moving into the UNM All-Time Top 10 at No. 5. Behind her, Lawson ran below 25 seconds for the second time this indoor season to finish 47th and Shelby took nearly a quarter of a second off her previous best of 25.27 ran at the Team Open two weeks ago to finish 49th. Shelby has only run the 200m indoors so far in her collegiate career.

All three Lobos in the women’s 400m kept their momentum from a big showing the weekend prior at Collegiate Classic, with Grieve taking a tenth of a second off her UNM program record ran last weekend to lead the way. Grieve now holds the two fastest 400m performances in school history indoors or outdoors -- just six days apart -- and her 51.71 mark ranks 14th among collegiate athletes in the history of the ABQ Convention Center.

Behind her, Rasha Badrani took five hundredths of a second off her time from last weekend, remaining at No. 5 on the indoor list, while Pineda improved by .17 seconds to move up to No. 6 on the list. They finished 10th and 12th overall, respectively.

Men’s Unseeded 400 Meters
14. Valin Wittenburg - 48.49 / 48.60 @ 
22. Jacob Cavanaugh - 49.51 / 49.62 @

Wittenberg ran just nine hundredths of a second below his season-opening time (48.40 / 48.51 @) and Jacob Cavanaugh crossed in 49.51 as the duo finished 14th and 22nd, respectively.

Men’s Invitational 400 Meters
3. Brodie Young - 45.59 / 45.70 @ 

Brodie Young posted a solid improvement on his season-opening time from last weekend, running two tenths of a second faster to finish third in the fastest 400m field of the day. He’s now run below 46 seconds in back-to-back races, with this time ranking 24th among ABQ Convention Center performances all-time.
