ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- Eight Lobos, led by the Mountain West Co-Defensive Player of the Year, were named to the Collegiate Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

On defense, Jaxton Eck, Mercury Swaim, Ky'Won McCray, and Brett Karhu were all named to the team, and on offense, Keagan Johnson, Kaden Robnett, Jack Layne, and Malik Alaine were named as well.

Showcasing athletic and academic success, Eck was the Mountain West Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Mountain West, Kaden Robnett was named Second Team All-Mountain West, and both Keagan Johnson and Brett Karhu were named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West.

To be named to the CSC All-District team, a player must be a starter or have played in 90% of his team's games and have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average.

The Lobos will now have players advance to the national ballot for potential CSC Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Tuesday, January 27. UNM's last CSC Academic All-America was in 2016 when Garrett Adcock was named.
