WESTLAKE, Ohio --- The University of New Mexico, which finished the 2025-26 year as the top G6 school in the final Learfield Directors' Cup standings, is still hanging tough as UNM was ranked No. 23 in the second and final Fall standings, released by NACDA today.
The Lobos are still the top G6 school in the standings, and UNM is just ahead of USC, which is 24th. The Lobos dropped three spots from 20th in the first release of the standings. UNM, which had scored 90 points for its second-place finish in men's cross country and 80 points for its fourth-place finish in women's cross country for 170 points, added 25 points for its bowl game appearance in the Rate Bowl.
The closest G6 school to UNM is Washington State, with 149 points and ranked 40th overall. The next-closest Mountain West school is Boise State, with 104 points, ranked 62nd. Notable schools that UNM is ahead of include SMU, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio State, Kentucky, and LSU.
