ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes a two-game homestand Saturday night when it hosts Nevada at The Pit. Game time is 6:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on FS1 and air on Lobo Radio Network.
Saturday night is 90s Retro Night at The Pit and fans are encouraged to dress in their 90s style. There will be a 90s living room set in the north concourse for photo opportunities and gates will open early at 4:00 p.m. for fans to have extended time to enjoy the set and shop for exclusive retro merchandise at the Lobo Den store. Both the store and 90s living room set will remain open to fans postgame until 9:00 p.m. There will also be a diaper drive at the main northeast entrance, brought to you by UNM Health. The Lobos (15-4, 6-2) look to remain unbeaten at home this season and extend a 22-game home win streak, the fifth-longest active streak in the nation. UNM is coming off an 83-74 home win over Fresno State on Wednesday night as the Lobo defense recorded a season-high 18 steals.
Nevada (14-5, 6-2 MW) has won 10 of its last 12 games and is coming off an 87-54 home win over San Jose State on Tuesday in Reno. The Wolf Pack rank in the top 10 nationally in 3-point percentage and fewest turnovers per game.
The Wolf Pack leads the all-time series 14-11, but the Lobos lead 6-3 in The Pit. New Mexico has won the last four matchups, its longest win streak in the series, but five of the last matchups have been one-possession games, including two overtime games and two won on a buzzer-beating shot.
The Lobos will take to the road next week, visiting UNLV on Tuesday and San Jose State on Saturday. New Mexico returns home the following week to host Utah State (Feb. 4) and Boise State (Feb. 7). Tickets for those games are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
