COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico’s Jake Hall was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Hall was honored after leading the Lobos to a pair of road wins last week.

Hall’s honor is his first of the season and the fourth overall for a Lobo, as Tomislav Buljan has been recognized three times this season. It is just the second time that UNM has had different players win the award in consecutive weeks, matching the feat set in 2023-24 by JT Toppin and Tru Washington.

Hall averaged 21.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last week, shooting 13-24 (.542) from the field, including 8-15 (.533) from deep, in the wins at Colorado State and Air Force. In Tuesday’s 80-70 win at Colorado State, Hall had a team-high 18 points on 6-10 shooting, including 3-5 from deep. In the 91-49 win at Air Force on Saturday, as the Lobos recorded their largest margin of victory ever in a Mountain West road game, Hall matched career highs with 24 points and seven rebounds, making 5-10 shots from three. It was his fifth 20-point game of the year, setting a new UNM freshman record.

The Lobos (13-3, 4-1 MW) return home Tuesday to host conference newcomer Grand Canyon (10-5, 3-1 MW). Game time at The Pit is 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
