ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico Baseball’s full slate of spring games for the 2026 season is now available to the public, a 51-game slate that features 35 home matchups at Lobo Baseball Field and a 30-game Mountain West schedule as the league expands to nine teams for the first time.

This season, admission for UNM home games is free for all in attendance. Stay tuned and follow @UNMLoboBaseball for updates on this upcoming season’s marketing and promotion schedule, with special theme days, events, giveaways and more for all 35 home games.

The Lobos improved their overall record for the third year in a row in 2025 en route to their second Mountain West Tournament appearance in a row, going 30-23 and 17-13 in Mountain West play. UNM wrapped up the season ranked among the nation’s most productive offensive teams, finishing as NCAA statistical champions in both batting average (.337) and doubles per game (2.79) while also ranking among the Top 20 in the nation in slugging (3rd, 0.574), scoring (8th, 9.2), OBP (13th, 0.425) and homers per game (16th, 1.75).

Heading into Head Coach Tod Brown’s fifth year at the helm, the Lobos return three players that batted above .300 last season in starting roles and a total of nine upperclassmen pitching returners – eight of which with eight or more appearances last season – that combined for 217 innings of work.

UNM’s opening weekend in Albuquerque will be broadcast via the MW Network, with live stats for each game available at GoLobos.com/BSBStats. Follow @UNMLoboBaseball on IG, X and Facebook for comprehensive coverage, promotional updates, behind-the-scenes content and more.

IN DEPTH
The 2026 Lobos will open the season at home for the first time since 2017, launching the campaign with a three-day, four-game series against Fordham from Feb. 13–15. UNM will play a series at home all four weekends in February, continuing the homestand with a four-game series against Northern Colorado (Feb. 20–22) followed by a three-day, four-game set with St. Thomas (Feb. 27–March 1). The Lobos then head on the road for the first time when they travel to Las Cruces to meet in-state rival New Mexico State on March 3 – the first of four rivalry meetings with the Aggies.

The following weekend, UNM returns home to face Tarleton State from March 6–8 before beginning Mountain West play the following week. Conference action opens on the road at San Jose State (March 13–15), followed by a midweek trip to Arizona on March 17.
The Lobos then return to Albuquerque for a non-conference series against Abilene Christian (March 20–22) before the first of two clashes with Big 12 opponent Texas Tech—March 24 in Lubbock and April 7 at Santa Ana Star Field. UNM’s first home Mountain West weekend arrives March 27–29 when 2025 NCAA Regional qualifier Fresno State visits Albuquerque, with a home meeting against New Mexico State on March 31 in between the Texas Tech matchups.

Conference play continues with a road series at UNLV (April 2–4) before UNM hosts back-to-back Mountain West weekends against San Diego State (April 10–12) and 2025 conference regular season champs Nevada (April 17–19). A midweek home date with CSU–Pueblo follows on April 21.

From there, the Lobos travel to Washington State April 24–26, marking the program’s first trip to Pullman. A final matchup with NMSU at home on April 28 precedes UNM’s last home conference series against Air Force (May 1–3).

The regular season concludes with a three-game road series at Grand Canyon (May 8–10) — now a newly added member of the Mountain West in 2026, expanding the league to nine baseball-playing teams for the first time in conference history. Next year’s Mountain West will also field nine teams despite realignment changes, with departing Fresno State, San Diego State and Washington State replaced by newcomers Hawaii, UC Davis and Utah Tech (affiliate).

The Lobos will be off the following weekend (May 14–16) in preparation for the Mountain West Tournament.

Should the Lobos stand among the top six teams in the Mountain West standings upon the conclusion of that weekend, they’ll earn a berth to the expanded MWC Baseball Championships May 20-23, hosted in Mesa, Ariz. for the second year in a row. The winner earns the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championships.
