RENO, Nev. --- Esme Abbadi-Macintosh and Alice English both hit Zone E qualifying marks to set up a spot in the NCAA postseason as UNM competed in a dual meet with the University of Nevada on Friday night, falling in the meet 167-63. UNM takes on UC Davis in a long-course meet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
In the 1-meter event, Abbadi-Macintosh and English both turned in season-best scores to hit the Zone E mark. Abbadi-Macintosh finished fourth overall with a 294.98, easily topping her previous high for the year of 242.55, set at New Mexico State. English did likewise, just behind her teammate at 284.55, more than 40 points higher than her previous best.
Rithika Colvin, Reed Moyer, and Zoe Rinon all topped their season-bests as well, with Moyer setting a PR.
In the 3-meter, English finished second with a 320.85, easily topping the 280-mark needed for Zones. Abbadi-MacIntosh just missed, finishing sixth at 273.15. Again, Moyer, Colvin, and Rinon all set season-highs as well.
In the races, Emily Ford and Arianna Stokes had second-place finishes for UNM, Ford in the 100 IM and Stokes in the 50-free.
