After a debut season in which she ranked among the league’s most productive defensive specialists, New Mexico Libero Camila Canedo has been named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention in a conference announcement released on Tuesday.
With the regular season concluded, Canedo led the league in both total digs (485) and digs per set (4.33), leading the Lobos in that category in 25 of their 29 matches. The Brazilian junior finished with 20 or more digs in 11 matches, including a 30-dig performance vs Grand Canyon on Oct. 18 that ranks as the most by any MW player in a four-set match and the most in a single match in conference play.
Her 485 digs in total are the seventh-most in a single season in UNM history and sixth-most in the rally scoring era.
All in all, Canedo also dished out 109 assists in total (0.97/set) and served up 23 aces (0.21/set), appearing as UNM’s libero in all 29 matches on the season.
The Lobos concluded the 2025 season last week with a pair of hard-fought losses on the road at Wyoming and Colorado State – they finish the year with a 13-16 record and 5-13 mark in Mountain West play, good for 10th in the conference standings.
