HOUSTON, Texas --- Alice English finished seventh in the 1-meter dive and Arianna Stokes earned a fifth-place finish in the C-Final of the 50-free to highlight day one of the Phil Hansel Invitational for the Lobos in just UNM's second meet of the season.

English, who regularly gets into Championship finals, looked the part of Wednesday, recording a 251.15 in the prelims to qualify seventh for the finals, and that's where she finished after a 241.55 in the final.

Stokes was the seventh qualifier for the C-Final in the 50 free, and she moved up to fifth, improving from 23.49 to 23.48.

While no other Lobos scored as individuals, UNM did have several PRs on the day. A pair of freshmen each had two PRs on the day. Liv Hann PR'ed twice in the 50 free. First in the individual race, she recorded a 24.08, and then as the lead in the 200 freestyle relay, she went out in a 23.91 for a second PR.

Mollie Gorman turned in a PR in the 200 IM at 2:12.20 and also in the 500 free at 5:21.22. Also earned a PR in the 500 free was Tahlia Micallef, who swam a 5:07.71.

Sophia Corder had a PR in the 200 IM at 2:09.69, and Tuana Uyar earned one in the 200 IM as well with a 2:14.75.

Freshman Rian Bleyendaal also joined in the fun, etching her name into the Lobo record books with her opening leg of the medley relay, swimming her 100 Back in 55.65, good for the ninth-best performer in the event.

The meet continues tomorrow with prelims at 10 am Central time, 9 am Mountain. Fans can follow along via @UNMLoboSwimDive on X, @UNMLoboSwimDive on Instagram, and via the Phil Hansel livestream for prelims and finals.
