ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—University of New Mexico head softball coach Nicole Orgeron and her staff signed five players to the 2026 class Wednesday featuring two pitchers, an infielder, catcher and outfielder.
Joining the Lobo Softball program are Jocelynn Gonzalez, Leah Letuli, Haley Mennenga, Aubrey Robledo and Ryoko Schroth and come to UNM from California and Texas.
Jocelynn Gonzalez | RHP | Fresno, California
From Fresno, California and Clovis North High School, Gonzalez is a two-way player who played varsity softball all four years of high school. During her career, the right-handed pitcher recorded 112 strikeouts and a 1.23 ERA. At the plate, she hit .323 with eight doubles, two home runs and 25 RBI.
A two-time Division 1 champion in 2024 and 2025 and TCC league champion in 2023, she was named a Fresno Bee All-Star Player in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and a Cal Hi Large School First Team as a hitter and pitcher in 2025 after being named to the second team as a junior. Her freshman season, she was named to the Tri County First Team League and as a Cal Hi Medium Player as a pitcher and hitter. Additionally, Gonzalez earned TRAC Sophomore & Junior 1st Team League in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
At the club level, she played for Batbusters, Corona Angels and Dirtdogs and twice made the Alliance Elite Eight.
Gonzalez has three older sisters who played softball in college and plans to major in kinesiology at UNM.
Gonzalez on why UNM: “I chose UNM because the environment. I feel like I could grow and excel academically and athletically here.”
Leah Letuli | Infielder | San Diego, California
From Bonita Vista High in San Diego, California, Letuli played both softball and volleyball and was a CIF Open Division Championship runner-up in 2025 in softball and won a CIF Division 2 Championship in volleyball in 2022.
Letuli earned accolades in both sports, selected for the All-League First Team in softball in 2025 and All-League Second Team in volleyball in 2024. She also picked up a pair of awards in beach volleyball, making All-League First Team in 2025 as well as All-League Pair of the Year in 2025.
Letuli plans on majoring in construction management at UNM.
Letuli on why UNM: “I love the coaches. They showed interest in me and made me feel welcome. I feel like that’s what every player wants, a coach that makes them feel welcome and like they belong somewhere.”
Haley Mennenga | Catcher | Fort Worth, Texas
From Fort Worth, Texas and Birdville High School, Mennenga won district in 2025 and the Texas UIL Softball State Championship.
The Lobo catcher was named the District 6-5A Catcher of the Tear in 2024 and the Second Team All-District in 2023. She was also named TGCA All-State in 2024 and the Fort Worth Star Telegram First Team All-Area in 2024. She also won the Alliance Fast Pitch 16U Home Run Derby in 2024 and was ranked 24th by Perfect Game for the Class of 2026.
Mennenga intends to major in anesthesiology at UNM.
Mennenga on why UNM: “I chose UNM for the community that surrounds the university. The people here are nothing short of welcoming, supportive, and kind. Not to mention the coaching staff for UNM Softball is everything an athlete wants in a coach.”
Aubrey Robledo | Outfielder| Midlothian, Texas
From Midlothian High School in Midlothian, Texas, Robledo earned Second Team All-District and honorable mention during her high school career. Academically, she earned academic all-district.
Robledo intends to major in medical biology at UNM.
Robledo on why UNM: “I chose the University of New Mexico because it just felt like the right fit for me. The atmosphere, the people, and the opportunities here make me excited to be a part of it.”
Ryoko Schroth | RHP | San Diego, California
From San Diego, California and Point Loma High School, Schroth won the 2025 Division 2 CIF and state championship. She was named First Team All-League in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and earned the Silver Slugger Award.
Beyond the softball field, the right-handed pitcher served as the Junior Class Secretary in 2025 and the Senior Class Officer and Commissioner of Activities. She is a member of the Athletic Leadership Council and the Social Chair.
Schroth intends to major in sports medicine at UNM.
Schroth on why UNM: “I immediately loved my coaches. They made me feel so comfortable on all of my phone calls and they went out of their way to get to know who I was as a person before about what kind of player I was.”
