INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Twenty-nine student-athletes from the 2024-25 University of New Mexico Lobo rosters were honored with the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award. Overall, 13 of UNM’s 18 programs were represented on the squad.
The 29 representatives led all Mountain West schools, ranking seventh nationally behind Stanford, Duke, Western Michigan, South Carolina, UMass, and Ball State.
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports. The Award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA Intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.
