SAN DIEGO, Calif. – New Mexico Volleyball bounced back from a slow start and went wire-to-wire over the final two sets but ultimately fell in four (10-25, 25-20, 23-25, 22-25) to San Diego State (10-6, 5-0 MW) Thursday at Peterson Gym.

Lauryn Payne led the way with a season-high 16 kills and recorded her second double-double of the season – and her collegiate career – with 11 digs, while freshman Addison France notched her third double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 assists.

After putting away just 14 kills with 14 attacking errors over the first two sets, the Lobos put away 13 in each of the next two – Payne connected on 11 kills over the final two sets, while Seenane Brewer came on strong down the stretch with six of her seven kills in the same span.

Brewer and Payne also had a career night at the service line – Brewer served up a career-high three aces while Payne served up two more.

Camila Canedo surpassed 20 digs for the second match in a row with a team-high 23 – she’s now eclipsed 20 digs six times and led the Lobos in digs in all but two matches this season.

Reagan Miller and Amanda Tremeroli both added two more kills apiece, with Miller setting a new career-high with eight total blocks (1 BS, 7 BA). France added five more block assists while Tremeroli and Zoe Leonard finished with three each.
