HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – The New Mexico women’s golf team concluded play Sunday at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate with the final round of play at the University of Denver Golf Course at Highlands Ranch. The Lobos shot 12-over during Sunday’s play to finish the tournament in 13th place at 32-over.
Seventh-ranked Vanderbilt continues won the tournament with a total of 22-under. Colorado was second at 11-under, while Texas State was third at 10-under.
Rebecca Galasso had the low round of the day for the Lobos, shooting an even-par round of 72. She finished the tournament at 7-over, making her UNM’s top individual finisher. Ava Cepeda shot 1-over on Sunday to finish the tournament at 11-over. Juliette Hole shot 77, Maria Caparros Levin shot 78 and Chelsea Truong shot 81 to round out the Lobo lineup.
The Lobos return to action this week with the NB3 Match Play Championship. The made-for-TV event, featuring team match play with the Lobo men’s and women’s teams, will run Tuesday and Wednesday at Twin Warriors Golf Club at the Santa Ana Pueblo and will be broadcast on Golf Channel.
