FAST FIVE

• UNLV has won the last three meetings in the series.

• New Mexico played its 2020 season in Las Vegas with UNLV's former home, Sam Boyd Stadium, serving as a home-away-from-home.

Cade Keith was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week and Mountain West Freshman of the Week. He became the first Lobo tight end to ever earn a weekly conference honor from either the Mountain West or the Western Athletic Conference.

• The Lobos rushed for 224 yards in Saturday's win over Utah State, making UNM 5-0 this year when rushing for triple-digits.

• UNM will become bowl eligible for the first time since 2016 with a win, and it will retain a chance to make the Mountain West Championship game.

The game features the return of UNM's turquoise jerseys, last worn in the final game of the 1979 season. New Mexico football wore turquoise at home from 1973-79, going 21-17 overall in the jerseys.

The Lobos are coming off a 24-22 win over Nevada that featured several timely plays by the Lobo defense and a few key fourth-down conversions by the Lobo offense. UNM limited Nevada to just 257 yards of total offense on Saturday night, and just 1-for-3 on fourth down.

New Mexico never trailed in the game, opening the game with a 16-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. Overall, UNM rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns as UNM beat Nevada for the first time since 2016.

Utah State is 4-3 on the season with a 4-0 record at home and a 0-3 record on the road. However, the Aggies have played and lost on the road to No. 19 Texas A&M (44-22), No. 18 Vanderbilt (55-35), and bowl-eligible Hawai'i (44-26). Quarterback Bryson Barnes is playing at an all-conference level, throwing for 1,644 yards and 13 touchdowns with just two interceptions, and rushing for 363 yards and seven more touchdowns.

Defensively, Utah State has picked off six passes, and five of those are by former Lobos.
