New Mexico Volleyball opened with a blistering first set but ultimately fell in four (19–25, 27–25, 14–25, 17–25) to San Jose State on Saturday afternoon in Mountain West play at Spartan Gym.

The Lobos (9–12, 1–9 MW) opened the match strong, hitting .314 in the opening frame to take a 1–0 lead before the Spartans responded to win the next three sets while holding them below .200 in each.

Lauryn Payne led the Lobo offense with 12 kills to go along with two blocks, while Addison France added 10 kills on .250 hitting and three blocks. Zoe Leonard followed with nine kills and hit .261 to round out a balanced front line.

Setter Madeleine Miller guided the offense with 33 assists and added six digs and two kills, while Camila Canedo anchored the back row with a team-high 23 digs and four assists. Seenane Brewer contributed across the board with three kills and eight digs, while Reagan Miller tallied three kills and three blocks in a solid two-way outing.

As a team, New Mexico totaled 42 kills on .158 hitting, finishing with five team blocks. San Jose State countered with 59 kills on .245 hitting and 15.0 total team blocks to close out the match.
