Lobos Fall in Four to Boise State

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico Volleyball came up short in four sets against Boise State on Saturday afternoon at Johnson Center, taking the first set and leading for much of the second before dropping the final three (25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 14-25).

In her second game back from injury, Lauryn Payne paced the attack with 14 kills while notching her first career double-double with 10 digs – her first time cracking double-digit digs in her career. Madeleine Miller guided the offense with 34 assists and chipped in 14 digs for a double-double of her own – her seventh of the season.

Solia Angilau had a career day at the net, finishing with eight total blocks (1 BS / 7 BA) as the Lobos came up with a season-high 14 blocks in total – Madeleine Miller added six (1 BS / 5 BA) and Reagan Miller came up with five more (2 BS / 3 BA). Angilau (7 kills) and Gioia Riccato (6 kills) combined for 13 kills in total, with Miller adding five more.

The Lobos move to 8-5 overall and 0-2 in Mountain West play, continuing their homestand next week with matchups against Colorado State (Oct. 2) and Wyoming (Oct. 4).
