ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico and Washington State announced Thursday a home-and-home exhibition series over the next two seasons. The Lobos and Cougars will play an exhibition this season on Oct. 25 at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman with the Cougars making the return trip to The Pit for an exhibition prior to the 2026-27 season.

This year’s exhibition will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. in Pullman and features free admission. Broadcast information will be announced at a later date.

Washington State, a member of the West Coast Conference, is coming off a 19-15 season in 2024-25, including an 8-10 record in the WCC. The Cougars participated in the inaugural College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas, falling to Georgetown in the first round.

The Lobos and Cougars have not met since 2015-16, when the Cougars won a matchup in the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii. New Mexico has a 3-2 record all-time in the series, including a 2-0 record in The Pit, but the teams have never met before in Pullman.

The game will be the first of two preseason exhibitions for the Lobos. New Mexico hosts Northern Arizona in the preseason finale on Oct. 30 at The Pit.
