TYLER, Texas --- Damon Bankston, who rolled up 203 all-purpose yards, all from scrimmage, in UNM's 35-10 win over UCLA in the Rose Bowl, was honored with Honorable Mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week Award.

The winner this week was Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver, who registered a career-high 207 yards receiving on seven catches, including a career-best 86-yard touchdown in a win over Notre Dame 41-40.

Bankston stepped in for an injured Scottre Humphrey and proceeded to reel off a 43-yard run, a 2-yard touchdown run, a 43-yard touchdown reception, and a 54-yard run to go over 100 yards rushing in the game.

His 203 yards of all-purpose yardage were the most this season by a Lobo, and he currently leads UNM with an average of 136.0 yards per game. His four plays from scrimmage of 40 yards or more are tied for the FBS lead among all players.

The Lobos are off this week before hosting rival New Mexico State in the 115th edition of the Rio Grande Rivalry. That will take place on Saturday, September 27, at 2 p.m. at University Stadium, and tickets can be purchased right here; they are going fast.

Last year, UNM took the 114th edition by a score of 50-40 to give UNM a 74-35-5 lead in the series, which dates back to 1893, 19 years before New Mexico became a state. The meeting of the 2-1 Lobos and the 2-1 Aggies is the first in which both teams have a winning record entering the game since 1992, when both were 1-0.  It's the first meeting in which both teams have a winning record, with the game being in Albuquerque since 1964, when both teams were 3-2.
