ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team announced its tentative 2025-26 Mountain West schedule on Thursday. The dates of the 20-game conference schedule are subject to change as the league’s television partners make their broadcast selections.
The Lobos will play nine opponents both home and away (Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State, Utah State), while playing Wyoming only at home and UNLV only on the road.
The Mountain West schedule begins on Dec. 20 as New Mexico hosts San Jose State. The Lobos’ additional tentative home dates include Wyoming (Jan. 3), Grand Canyon (Jan. 13), Fresno State (Jan. 20), Nevada (Jan. 24), Utah State (Feb. 3), Boise State (Feb. 7), Air Force (Feb. 17), San Diego State (Feb. 28) and Colorado State (Mar. 3).
The tentative dates for the Lobos’ road schedule include Boise State (Dec. 30), Colorado State (Jan. 6), Air Force (Jan. 10), San Diego State (Jan. 17), UNLV (Jan. 27), San Jose State (Jan. 31), Grand Canyon (Feb. 10), Fresno State (Feb. 21), Nevada (Feb. 24) and Utah State (Mar. 7). The Mountain West Tournament will be held Mar. 11-14 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Over the next few weeks, CBS and Fox will make their broadcast selections of Mountain West games and the date of any game could change to accommodate the television networks. Any game tentatively listed as a Tuesday could be played any midweek day of that week, while any game tentatively listed as a Saturday could be played on Friday night, Saturday or Sunday of that weekend. The finalized schedule with television designations will be released by the conference at a later date.
New Mexico’s home schedule will include the 10 home Mountain West games in addition to seven home non-conference games and one home exhibition. The home non-conference schedule includes games against East Texas A&M (Nov. 5), UT Arlington (Nov. 8), UC Riverside (Nov. 11), Alabama State (Nov. 26), New Mexico Highlands (Dec. 1), Santa Clara (Dec. 6) and Florida Gulf Coast (Dec. 14). The Lobos will host Northern Arizona (Oct. 30) in a preseason exhibition.
Season tickets for the 18-game home schedule will go on sale for new purchases on Monday (Sept. 15) at GoLobos.com/tickets. Season tickets start as low as $199 plus taxes and fees and include games against 10 teams that played in the 2025 postseason, highlighted by five NCAA Tournament teams.
