Women’s Golf Opens Season by Hosting the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opens its 2025-26 season Monday-Tuesday as it hosts the 47th annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The event at the 6,354-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The final round will be Tuesday, also starting with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Clippd.

This year’s tournament features 15 schools. Joining the host Lobos are BYU, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Fresno State, Long Beach State, Mercer, Montana State, Northern Arizona, Sacramento State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UNLV, UTEP and Washington State.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Ava Cepeda, Chelsea Truong, Maria Caparros Levin, Ciara Rushmer and Rebecca Galasso. Juliette Hole will also compete as an individual.

The 47th Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational marks the 70th year that UNM has hosted a women’s golf event, dating back to 1956 in conjunction with the William H Tucker Invitational hosted by the UNM men’s team. The Lobos have won seven team titles when hosting the event, most recently in 2008. Long Beach State, the 2024 champion, returns to defend the title.
