Millie McLelland-Brooks Named MW Freshman of the Week

After leading the Lobo women with a third-place individual finish in her collegiate debut Saturday at the Lori Fitzgerald Open, New Mexico’s Millie McLelland-Brooks has been named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

The Scottish true freshman was the highest finisher for the Lobos in their annual 5K rust-buster at the Lori Fitzgerald Open, crossing in 17:39.78 — the second-fastest D-1 finisher in the race. The UNM women finished third in the team score with 67 points in total, with the men taking first in their team score with just 42 points.
