UNM’s Fan-Friendly Initiatives Continue with “Kids 12 & Under Get In Free” Offer for Select Single-Game Tickets

by Frank Mercogliano

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Families, get ready. Lobo Football just got even more affordable.

As part of a new fan-friendly initiative, fans who purchase a single-game general admission ticket in the North End Zone can now receive up to two free kids’ tickets — valid for children 12 and under — to that same game. It’s a perfect way to introduce the next generation to the sights, sounds, and excitement of Lobo Football.

This “Kids 12 & Under Get In Free” offer is valid for all 2025 home games except the Rio Grande Rivalry on September 27, and is proudly sponsored by The Education Plan®. Tickets must be purchased and redeemed at www.GoLobos.com/tickets by selecting Football, then the “Kids Free Initiative.”

“We want to create a great home field advantage for Lobo Football, and the best way to do that is to have our stands full,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Fernando Lovo. “But we also recognize that families are making tough decisions with their discretionary income, and this feels like a win-win. It provides affordable access to a great product and a memorable experience for kids and parents alike.”

Lovo added, “These student-athletes are incredible representatives of our university and our state. Giving the next generation a chance to see them up close and to dream big is absolutely the right thing to do.”

The “Kids 12 & Under Get In Free” offer is part of a broader rollout of fan-first efforts designed to elevate the game day experience and make Lobo Football more accessible than ever. A companion initiative focused on further enhancing affordability will be announced soon.

This season’s improvements include a $1.2 million video board upgrade that will deliver sharper visuals and replays throughout University Stadium. On the field, the momentum is just as strong. Two Lobos were recently named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team, including the program’s first offensive honoree in eight years.

Led by new Head Coach Jason Eck, the Lobos have welcomed 75 new players, including four All-Americans. The team is quickly becoming a popular pick to surprise in the Mountain West.

The home schedule kicks off Friday, September 6 against Idaho State. That game will be the first of five eligible for the “Kids 12 & Under Get In Free” offer. Other participating games include:

• October 18 vs. Nevada
• October 25 vs. Utah State
• November 15 vs. Colorado State
• November 28 vs. San Diego State
