Head Coach Jason Eck Post Practice Media
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico opened practice on Wednesday morning with a crisp workout lasting over two hours. The opening practice featured five Lobo healthy Lobo quarterbacks, a far cry from when spring practice ended with just James Laubstein and Gabe Motschenbacher.
Jack Layne returned and threw the ball well, and Connecticut transfer Cole Welliver and freshman Toa Faavae joined those three. The opening hammer of fall camp was picked up by returning defensive tackle Okiki Olorunfunmi.
Coach Jason Eck met with the media afterwards and gave his assessment of day one to a large pack of media that were able to watch the entire practice.
