Lobos Have Seven Selected for National TV
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The University of New Mexico will have seven games on national television, five in conference play, including a Friday afternoon Thanksgiving weekend home finale against San Diego State at 1:30 pm as the Mountain West along with television partners CBS and FOX have announced the league’s 53-game national television slate.
New Mexico’s two non-conference road games at Michigan and at UCLA will also be on national television. The opening game of the Jason Eck era will be shown in prime time as New Mexico and Michigan will kickoff on August 30 at 5:30 pm Mountain Time/7:30 pm Eastern Time on NBC. New Mexico’s game with UCLA will have a television network announced in June, and that game has moved to Friday, September 12.
The Lobos will have five of their eight conference games on national television, with two at home and three on the road. Home games selected were October 18 hosting Nevada, which will be on the Fox Family of Networks (most likely FS1 or FS2). UNM’s other home game on television will be the Senior Day game on Thanksgiving weekend. That game against San Diego State will move to Black Friday, November 28 and UNM will have a 1:30 pm kick against the Aztecs.
The Lobos will have three conference road games broadcast, starting with the two opening conference games. UNM will open conference play on FS1 on a Friday night at San Jose State with that game kicking off at 8 p.m. Mountain, 7 p.m. Pacific. UNM will follow that game up the following week at Boise State, with a game on the Fox Family of Networks, with a time to be announced at a later date.
UNM’s last conference road game is on November 22 at Air Force, and that is the first of two CBS Sports Network games to close the season. The Lobos will play Air Force at 5 pm at the Academy.
UNM’s home games with Idaho State, New Mexico State, Utah State and Colorado State will have television information and game times announced in the upcoming weeks. All of those games will air on the Mountain West Network. With the two non-conference road games on linear television, the Lobos will have all 12 games either on linear television or streamed.
