by Frank Mercogliano

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After transferring to UNM from Radford and helping the Lobos win the 2025 Mountain West Tournament and advance to the NCAA Tournament, Aditya Balsekar picked up an academic honor as he was named CSC Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators as the honors for women’s and men’s tennis were announced by the association.

The senior started play for UNM at No. 1 songles before settling into a solid home at No. 2 singles, as the Lobos finished second in the Mountain West before rolling off three straight wins in the Mountain West Tournament, punctuated by a 4-0 win over top-seed and No. 42 Boise State in the finals.  UNM advanced to the NCAA Tournament where the Lobos lost to No. 5 Stanford in Palo Alto.

Balsekar, a senior majoring in liberal arts and integrated studies, did not play any fall tournament matches but combined for 20 wins in the spring season between singles and doubles.
