Falleur and Herron Earn All-Mountain West Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –– Two members of the New Mexico men’s golf team were honored as the Mountain West announced the 2024-25 all-conference team. Junior Mesa Falleur and senior Carson Herron were named to the 10-player All-Mountain West team, as UNM had two selections for the fifth straight season.
Falleur earns All-Mountain West honors in his first season as a Lobo after transferring from Kansas City, where he was the 2023-24 Summit League Golfer of the Year. This season he is leading UNM with a 70.88 stroke average, on pace to become just the 10th Lobo to average better than 71.00 for a season. He has a team-best five top-10 finishes this season, highlighted by a T-4th at last month’s Mountain West Championship.
Herron was named to the All-Mountain West team for the first time in his career, after being the conference’s freshman of the year in 2021-22. He has a career-best 71.73 stroke average this season, posting a career-best 201 last month at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate. That was one of two tournaments this season that Herron had a runner-up finish in an individual playoff, also tying for first at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in the fall.
The Lobos will travel to Florida next week to compete in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club on the campus of Florida State University. The top five finishers will advance from the regional to the NCAA Championships, held later this month in Carlsbad, Calif.
