Jake Hall and Uriah Tenette Sign with Lobo Basketball
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball program announced Tuesday the addition of two recruits to the 2025-26 roster. Jake Hall and Uriah Tenette, who both originally committed to UC San Diego, will form the Lobos’ freshman class next season.
Hall is a 6-4 guard from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, Calif. He scored 3,106 points over his career, the second-most points in San Diego high school history. The two-time first-team All-State selection averaged 28.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a senior, shooting 40.3 percent from 3-point range. Hall, who was the 2024 San Diego Section Player of the Year, had seven 40-point games last year for Carlsbad.
“Jake is one of the most accomplished basketball players San Diego has seen in recent years,” said head coach Eric Olen. “While his scoring is well-documented, it’s his advanced feel for the game that truly sets him apart. We are excited that Jake and his family are joining our Lobo family next season.”
“New Mexico is a special place and they have a special coaching staff coming in,” said Hall. “I was committed to Coach Olen before, and I have a great relationship with him and the staff. Being a Lobo was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up and I am really excited.”
Uriah Tenette is a 5-10 guard from Prescott High School in Prescott, Ariz. He finished his career with 2,752 points, the seventh most in Arizona high school history. As a junior, Tenette led the state of Arizona in scoring at 31.4 points per game before averaging 29.2 points per game (fourth in the state) as a senior, to go along with 6.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.9 steals per game. His senior year was highlighted by a 54-point, 10-assist performance against Chatsworth High School in California. A two-sport star at Prescott, he was the Grand Canyon Region Player of the Year twice in both basketball and football.
“Uriah has the ability to light up the scoreboard in a hurry,” said Olen. “His offensive game is versatile, whether it’s through finishing at the rim, creating his own shot, or playmaking for teammates. We are thrilled that Uriah and his family have chosen to be part of Lobo Nation.”
“New Mexico has such a great atmosphere at The Pit,” said Tenette. “I have been following Coach Olen for a while and wanted to play for him. When he came to New Mexico, he gave me this incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to get started as a Lobo.”
