by Steve Kirkland

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s golf team travels to Oregon this week for the 2025 Mountain West Championship. The tournament will run Friday-Sunday at the 7,210-yard, par-Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Ore.

The tournament will feature one round of play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard and the tournament will have live coverage each day on a free webstream.

New Mexico has won a record eight Mountain West Championships, most recently in 2021. The Lobos have been the conference runner-up each of the past two seasons, including in a playoff last year at Emerald Valley.

The No. 47 ranked Lobos are one of five top-100 teams in the field. UNM will be competing against No. 16 San Diego State, No. 34 UNLV, No. 53 Colorado State and No. 95 San Jose State. Wyoming, Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, Utah State and Air Force round out the field.

The Lobos will feature a lineup of Mesa Falleur, Carson Herron, Wyatt Provence, Oliver Cage and Clark Sonnenberg. Alvaro Portillo is the alternate.

The Lobos are coming off a fourth finish at the ASU Thunderbird Collegiate earlier this month in Phoenix, their fifth top-five finish of the season.
