Lobos to Compete in 2025 Hall of Fame Classic
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team will compete in 2025 Hall of Fame Classic, the tournament announced Thursday. The tournament will be held Nov. 20 and Nov. 21 at T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
The four-team field for the 25th edition of the tournament consists of New Mexico, Kansas State, Mississippi State and Nebraska. Semifinal round matchups, game times, broadcast details and ticket information will be announced soon.
All four teams in the field finished last season ranked in the top 75 of the NET, with the Lobos and Mississippi State earning NCAA Tournament selections and Nebraska winning the inaugural College Basketball Crown.
The tournament will mark the second time UNM has played at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. In 2013-14, the Lobos lost to No. 13 Kansas 80-63 in a neutral site matchup at the arena.
The Lobos are 2-4 all-time against Kansas State, having last played the Wildcats twice in 2006-07, winning at home before falling to KSU in a neutral site matchup in Las Vegas. UNM has won the only previous matchup with Nebraska, an 83-71 win over the Cornhuskers in The Pit in the first round of the 2009 NIT. New Mexico and Mississippi State have never met before on the court.
