Lobos Finish Seventh at Mountain West Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The New Mexico women’s golf team concluded play Thursday at the 2025 Mountain West Championship with the final round of play at the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club. The Lobos shot 26-over during Thursday’s round to finish in seventh place at 47-over.

UNLV won the title in a playoff over San Jose State, after both finished the tournament at 18-over. Nevada finished third at 25-over, while Colorado State is fourth at 28-over and Fresno State was fifth at 34-over.

Freshman Maria Garcia was UNM’s top finisher, the fifth event she has been low Lobo this season. She shot a 6-over 78 on Thursday to finish in 17th place at 11-over. Chelsea Truong and Rebecca Galasso tied for 18th place overall, each finishing at 12-over. Annie Saechueng finished at 16-over and Maria Caparros Levin finished at 19-over.

“Nothing went our way today and it was not a great ending,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “I want to thank our three seniors for all they have done over the last four years. They will be missed.”
