Lobos Wrap Up Competition at Fanelli Classic, Stanford Invite
THE ACTION AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE
In the first race of the day for the Lobos at SF State, Meadow Drebert posted a 2:11.20 time to win her first collegiate 800m race as an attached runner in the second heat.
In the fourth section, Hanna Bruckmayer (2:10.60), Sophia McDonnell (2:15.17) and Millie Freeland (2:15.35) finished third, sixth and seventh, with Bruckmayer taking more than two seconds off her previous 800m best in her first race at that distance outdoors. Bruckmayer finished eighth overall on the day, with Drebert and Dekker in 14th and 15th, respectively.
In the sixth section, Li-Mari Dekker followed up on her 4:30.63 collegiate debut in the 1,500m at Stanford with a 2:11.23 to finish first, with Brigid Hanley (2:15.92) crossing 11th. Mia Torrecillas (2:18.10) finished sixth in the 10th section and Anya Belisle (2:22.27) finished sixth in the 12th section to round things out.
The lone men’s 800m competitor of the day, Joshua Abraham notched a new personal best with a 1:53.04 finish, placing third in the fourth section and 16th overall among the field.
THE ACTION AT STANFORD
After running the fifth-fastest 1,500m in history on Friday night, Judy Rono opened with a new lifetime best in the 800m (2:05.44) to enter the outdoor all-time list at No. 3 and finish second in the third section of the day. Up next, Alice Seguin put down a 2:11.10 time in her first collegiate 800m in the fifth section, crossing fifth.
Matthew Endrody shaved .11 seconds off his raw indoor best at elevation with a 1:49.55 clocking in the second section of the men’s 800m.
