Lobos in 10th After Day Two of PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX – The New Mexico women’s golf team continued play Saturday at the PING/ASU Invitational with the second round of play at the Papago Golf Course. The Lobos shot 13-over during the second round to finish the day in 10th place at 13-over for the tournament.

Tournament host, No. 9 Arizona State, remains the leader at 28-under, while No. 12 Northwestern is the only other team under par at 13-under. No. 21 Kansas is third at 1-over, while No. 25 UCLA (2-over) and No. 42 Pepperdine (6-over) round out the top five.

Maria Garcia led the Lobos on Saturday, shooting a 1-over 73 in the second round. She is T-17th on the individual leaderboard at 1-over for the weekend. Also T-17th at 1-over is Maria Caparros Levin, who shot a 3-over 75 in the second round. Chelsea Truong is at 5-over, Rebecca Galasso is at 6-over and Annie Saechueng rounds out the lineup at 15-over.

The PING/ASU Invitational will conclude Sunday at the Papago Golf Course.
