Women's Tennis Returns Home to Host Utah State
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After an opening Mountain West weekend split and an eight-match road swing, the Lobos finally return home to host Utah State on Friday before going right back out to take on UNLV in Las Vegas on Sunday. The Utah State match will be the front end of a doubleheader with the men and it will start at 11 am. The match with UNLV will be 11 Pacific and noon Mountain.
The Lobos last week split a pair of 4-3 matches, winning at Wyoming, a place where the host Cowgirls have lost just 11 times in the past eight seasons, and losing at Colorado State. The Lobos now host a 5-7, 0-2 Utah State team at McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium. UNM’s test with UNLV will be tough as well as the Rebels are 10-3 on the season and 9-2 at home.
The Lobos have been led by Maud Vandeputte, who has taken the No. 1 singles slot and dominated, going 4-0 there on the season. Overall in the spring, she is 9-1.
