Stokes Finishes 13th in NIC 100 Free
OCALA, Fla. — Arianna Stokes finished third in the B-Final in 100-free and 13th overall, putting UNM on the board in finishing UNM’s run in the CSCAA National Invitaitonal Championships as UNM finished in 46th in the championships. The meet marked the final competitions for two of UNM’s seven seniors in Linda Franco and Jordan Foster.
Stokes qualified 13th overall in the 100-free, and that’s where she would eventually finish, swimming a 49.85. She got out in the split at 24.00 flat which had her in second by just 0.03 seconds in a tightly compacted group of five swimmers, and she held off all but one in finishing third in the B-Final. Foster in her final collegiate race swam in the 100 IM, missing the final with a 39th place finish in the prelims at 58.19.
Two swimmers, Linda Franco and Sophia Corder swam in a 50 free time trail with Franco in third at 23.81 and Corder sixth at 24.32.
