Mountain West Leading Lobos Visit Boise State Wednesday Night
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The Mountain West-leading New Mexico men’s basketball team travels to Idaho this week for a Wednesday night contest at Boise State. Game time is 8:00 pm at ExtraMile Arena and the game will air on CBS Sports Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
New Mexico (22-4, 14-1 MW) is in first place in the Mountain West and have won eight straight, tied for the fifth-longest win streak in the nation. The Lobos are coming off an 82-79 win over Utah State on Sunday, completing a season sweep of the second-place Aggies. Tru Washington scored a career-high 25 points in the victory and earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors, the fourth straight week a Lobo has earned the accolade.
Boise State (17-8, 9-5 MW), the preseason favorite in the conference, has won four of its last five and is 11-1 at home this season. Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year Tyson Degenhart leads the Broncos in scoring at 17.8 points per game.
New Mexico leads the all-time series 15-12, but the Broncos are 8-4 in Boise, including winning six straight since the Lobos’ last road win in the series in 2017. UNM won the first meeting, 84-65, on Jan. 17 at The Pit, fueled by a 23-2 run to conclude the first half.
Following the game, the Lobos will have the weekend off before visiting San Diego State on Feb. 25. New Mexico has two home games remaining on their schedule, hosting Air Force on Mar. 1 and UNLV on Mar. 7. Tickets for both of those games are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
