Lobo Women’s Golf Opens Spring Schedule at San Diego State Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team will begin its spring schedule this week with a trip to California for the San Diego State Classic. The event will be played Monday and Tuesday at the 6,376 yard-par 72 The Heights Golf Club.

The event features two rounds on Monday and one round on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard.

The tournament will consist of a 12-team field, as New Mexico will play seven top-80 foes in No. 1 Stanford, No. 35 UNLV, No. 48 BYU, No. 53 Colorado, No. 58 Oregon State, No. 67 Georgia and No. 77 Denver. Host San Diego State, Fresno State, Western Michigan and Wisconsin round out the field.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Maria Garcia, Maria Caparros Levin, Chelsea Truong, Rebecca Galasso and Annie Saechueng.

The Lobos are playing in the San Diego State Classic for the third straight season, coming off an eighth place finish at last year’s event.

New Mexico played five events during the fall season, highlighted by a sixth place finish at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas.
