ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –– New Mexico sophomore Oliver Cage was named the Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Week, conference officials announced Thursday. Cage was honored after a top-20 finish at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson.
Playing as an individual, Cage was the Lobos’ top finisher at the N.I.T., finishing T-19th at 6-under. Cage shot rounds of 67-72-71 at OMNI Tucson National, shooting a collegiate best 210. His 5-under first round was his lowest round as a Lobo.
Cage is the first Lobo to earn a Mountain West weekly/monthly honor this season.
The Lobos return to action February 13-15 with the John Burns Intercollegiate on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
