Swimming & Diving Head to Flagstaff for a Pair of Meets
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The University of New Mexico swimming and diving team gets a little two-for-one special this weekend, as the diving squad will take part in the three-day Lumberjack Diving Invitational before the rest of the swimming squad joins them for a dual meet with NAU. The Lumberjack Diving Invitational takes place Thursday through Saturday, January 30 through February 1, while the dual meet will be on Saturday. There is no live stream of either event.
The Lumberjack Diving Invitational will have both a men’s competition along with the women’s competition. On Thursday, the women’s 3-meter will start at 10:30 am, with the top-18 advancing to three finals, and the scores for those top-18 will reset for the various finals. Friday will also start at 10:30 am and it will feature the women’s 1-meter, with the same finals format. There will also be an evening team competition on Friday.
Saturday will have the women’s platform at 10 am before the dual meet starts at approximately 11:15 am. Here are the dual meet swimming events:

UNM will look to keep up the solid season as the Lobos are coming off good results in the Air Force quad dual that also featured Colorado State and Seattle. Isabella Gomez had a season-best 280.40 in the 1-meter, giving her a Zone qualifying score. Ellie Broughton had an altitude adjusted 10:39.06 in the 1,000 for UNM’s best time this year in that event and several Lobos picked up season-bests in their splits of the various relays with Emily Ford and Francesca Benavides doing so in the 50-yard split of the 200 and Benavides, Tahlia Micallef, Brynn Quintana and Paige Lyons doing likewise in the 100-yard split of the 400-relay.
