Lobos Travel to Las Vegas for Saturday Afternoon Matchup with UNLV
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins a two-game road trip on Saturday by visiting UNLV. Game time is 1:00 pm MT (noon PT) at the Thomas & Mack Center and the game will air on FOX and the Lobo Radio Network.
New Mexico (16-4, 8-1 MW) is leading the Mountain West and has tied the best nine-game start to a Mountain West season in program history, matching the 8-1 start in 2013-14. The Lobos are coming off a pair of home wins last week, defeating Boise State, 84-65, and Fresno State, 95-67. Donovan Dent is leading the Mountain West in scoring and assists, while Nelly Junior Joseph is the only player in the conference averaging a double-double.
UNLV (11-8, 5-3 MW) is coming off a 63-61 home loss to Wyoming on Tuesday, after posting wins over No. 22 Utah State and at San Diego State the previous week. The Runnin’ Rebels are led by Dedan Thomas, Jr., who averages 15.8 points and 4.5 assists per game.
UNLV leads the all-time series 43-26, including a 21-9 mark at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Runnin’ Rebels have won 10 of the last 11 meetings, and New Mexico hasn’t won a road game in the series since 2018.
The Lobos will have a week off following the game before visiting Utah State (7-1 MW) next Saturday. New Mexico returns home to host Colorado State (6-2 MW) on Feb. 5. Tickets for that game are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets.
