Lobos Sit 41st in Final Fall Learfield Director’s Cup Standings

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — All Fall sports seasons in the NCAA are officially in the books, and with that, the 2024 final Fall standings for the Learfield Directors Cup have been released.  The University of New Mexico currently sits 41st overall, which is first among all Mountain West schools and is seventh in all of Division I among non-Power 4 conference schools.

Georgetown is the top non-Power 4 school with 220 points, good for 16th place.

The Lobos picked up points for two Top-10 national finishes, in men’s cross country and women’s cross country.  The Lobos finished seventh in the men’s national championships and picked up 72 points while the women’s team earned 69 points for a ninth-place finish.

Overall, UNM’s 141 points is the top point total among all Mountain West schools.  The next highest team is Utah State, which earned points for men’s cross country (52) and women’s soccer (25) for 77 points. The Aggies are tied for 82nd overall.  Other Mountain West teams in the final Fall rankings are Boise State (104th), Colorado State (T-118th), UNLV (T-118th), Wyoming (151st), Fresno State (T-154th) and San José State (T-154th).
