by Steve Kirkland

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team returns home Friday to start a two-game homestand by hosting Boise State. Game time is 9:00 pm at The Pit and the game will air on FS1.

Tickets for Friday’s game are on sale at GoLobos.com/tickets and gates will open at 7:30 p.m. Friday’s game is Indigenous Heritage Night at The Pit with the Lobos wearing their alternate turquoise uniforms to honor the occasion. There will also be a halftime performance by the Pueblo Dance Group.

New Mexico (14-4, 6-1 MW) is tied for the Mountain West lead and with a win would match its best eight-game start to Mountain West play at 7-1. Donovan Dent is leading the conference in scoring at 19.0 points per game and Nelly Junior Joseph is leading the league in rebounding at 9.8 per game.

Boise State (13-5, 5-2 MW) was the preseason favorite in the Mountain West and is coming off a 96-55 home win over Wyoming on Tuesday, its largest margin of victory over a conference opponent in four years. Tyson Degenhart, the preseason conference player of the year, leads Boise State in scoring at 17.7 points per game.

New Mexico leads the all-time series 14-12, including an 8-4 mark in The Pit. Last year, the Broncos swept the regular season meetings before the Lobos won the matchup in the Mountain West Tournament quarterfinals.

The Lobos will complete the two-game homestand on Monday when they host Fresno State in a MLK Day matinee. Game time is 3:00 p.m. and the contest will air on CBSSN. Tickets are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
